Platforms
The Crew 2 was developed and released for Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support enhanced visuals for the respective console version. Playing on newer consoles does not automatically make it a standalone PS5 or Xbox Series version. On PC, the Ubisoft version requires a Ubisoft account.

Cars, motorcycles, boats and planes
Vehicles differ by terrain and discipline. Road cars and motorcycles move over asphalt, off-road machines over loose terrain, boats across rivers and lakes, and planes through the air. With the Fast Fav vehicle switch, you can change vehicle types during free exploration without returning to a menu.

The USA as an open race track
The game world condenses well-known US regions into a drivable network of cities, highways, mountains, deserts and rivers. Places such as New York, the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon are part of this map. Between races you can drive freely, take photos, try out vehicles and discover new routes.

Play offline with hybrid mode
Since Oct 16, 2025, The Crew 2 has offered an offline option. You can export your existing online progress to a local save file. The two save states stay separate: progress made offline does not flow back into the online file. A new export overwrites the existing offline file. Without an internet connection, the game automatically starts in offline mode.

What is missing offline?
Offline you can explore the game world, race alone and collect vehicles. Online PvP, crews, leaderboards and LIVE Summits remain exclusive to connected mode. Since April 2026, custom vehicle liveries and sticker groups can also be created and saved offline. Selected vehicle and driver stats can now also be carried over in the local save file.

Drive online with friends
In online mode you can form a crew with up to three friends and explore the USA together or take part in races. There are also competitive online modes and leaderboards. Hybrid mode lets you choose between offline and online play, but it does not link the two save files.
