The Bloodsworn
The playable Bloodsworn are beings with special powers that come from their blood. Their appearance draws on vampire motifs without being tied to a classic vampire story.
At the center of their clashes is the mysterious First Blood. The characters are summoned to places and times when the age of humanity is drawing to a close.

PvPvE and shifting alliances
Up to eight players fight in a shared online match. This leads to encounters with other Bloodsworn as well as fights against computer-controlled enemies.
The mix of competition, shared threats and possible temporary alliances makes room for different strategies instead of only direct one-on-one fights.

Locations and atmosphere
The game world combines Gothic architecture, gloomy cities and locations with varied historical influences. Alongside Victorian-style settings, more modern scenes with trains can also be seen.
The story is not limited to a single place or a single era. The Bloodsworn are called upon at various moments of humanity's decline.

Weapons and combat styles
Bloodsworn use their own weapons and special blood powers. FromSoftware relies on various ways to defeat enemies, dodge them or use the environment tactically.
The development builds on the studio's experience with demanding enemies, but follows the independent PvPvE concept of The Duskbloods.

Development
Hidetaka Miyazaki is director of The Duskbloods. The idea came from discussions with Nintendo and was first tested on the original Switch on a smaller scale.
With the larger development scope, the project moved to Switch 2. According to Miyazaki, the focus on online multiplayer does not mean the studio is abandoning its single-player games.
