What is The Jackbox Party Pack 3?

The Jackbox Party Pack 3 brings together five different party games: Quiplash 2, Trivia Murder Party, Guesspionage, Tee K.O. and Fakin' It. All of them draw on the ideas and answers of the players, but each demands different skills, from spontaneous jokes to bluffing.

The game comes from Jackbox Games. To take part, a smartphone, tablet or computer with a browser is enough, while the game itself runs on a shared screen.

Gameplay

The collection switches between creative answers, trivia, estimation, drawing and spotting hidden roles. A game host does not need to invent the rules from scratch: each minigame guides you through the process with its own rounds.

Depending on the game, between one and eight people take part directly. Others can join in via the spectator feature.

Smartphone instead of extra controllers

Players open the game interface on their own browser device and enter their answers or drawings there. Extra controllers are not needed for this. On Switch, a Joy-Con or Pro Controller is used to navigate the menus, not as an input device for the minigames.

Spectators and large groups

Each of the five games supports a spectator feature for up to 10,000 people. Depending on the minigame, the number of active players is much smaller. This separates the immediate game round from a larger audience that can take part via the browser.

Play together, even from afar

The minigames are designed for a shared party setting. With screen and audio sharing over a video chat, however, people in different locations can also take part. They then need to see the running game and use their own browser device for their answers.
