What is Train Valley 2?

Train Valley 2 is a railway puzzle game by Flazm. Instead of running an ever-growing railway company, you solve self-contained logistics tasks: you connect businesses with tracks, set switches and steer trains so that the required goods reach their destination on time.

The game combines manageable scenarios with increasingly complex supply chains. Its reduced low-poly style makes tracks, factories and train movements easy to recognise from the isometric perspective.

Gameplay

In each level, you connect stations and businesses, send trains off and respond to how traffic develops. A working route alone is not enough: trains need clear paths, the right switch settings and enough time for all deliveries.

Several missions often run at the same time. You have to decide whether to invest money in new tracks, additional trains or better locomotives, and which goods to transport first.

DLCs and expansions

Several additional puzzle collections were released for the PC version. Passenger Flow adds passenger transport, Myths & Rails introduces unusual scenarios and Editor's Bulletin offers 30 more levels. The Workshop Gems packs bundle selected community levels. The Pandeia Project is another route collection.

The expansions are available on Steam as additional content for the base game. The Definitive Edition bundle is a collection of existing content and not a separate game.

System requirements

On Windows, Train Valley 2 needs at least an older dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM, a basic DirectX 9 graphics card and about 1 GB of storage. For more performance headroom, the Steam version recommends 4 GB RAM and a stronger graphics card, among other things.

The original OS details come from the older version of the game. For a current Steam client, its current OS requirements also apply.

The details apply to PC.

Goods and production chains

Raw materials reach factories by train, where they are made into new goods. These products are then transported to further production sites or to cities. With each additional processing stage, the number of trips needed grows.

This turns short train connections into larger transport networks with dependencies: if a raw material is missing, the downstream production also stops.

Tracks, switches and train traffic

Switches direct trains onto the intended routes. Crossings and shared tracks can become bottlenecks when several deliveries are on the move at once. Switches set too late or unfavourable departure times increase the risk of collisions.

The challenge therefore comes not only from building the rail network, but also from managing traffic as it runs.

Company mode and progress

Company mode offers 50 levels, with requirements ranging from simple transport to branched industrial chains. The scenarios take you through different landscapes and eras of railway history.

Each task is its own puzzle with clear goals. The game focuses on efficient planning rather than a permanently open economic simulation.

Locomotives and wagons

During the game, you can unlock 18 locomotive models. Technical advances follow the development from early railways to more modern trains.

More than 45 wagon types transport raw materials and finished goods. As demand grows, it pays to replan capacity and routes.

Level editor and Steam Workshop

On PC, you can use the level editor to design your own landscapes, factories and transport tasks. The Steam Workshop lets you share levels you have made and download other players' routes.

Flazm also supports mods for locomotives, wagons, industrial sites and resources. The editor extends the game beyond the 50 levels of Company mode.
