Truck Driver

Truck Driver is a truck simulation about delivery jobs and building your own transport career. You take over your father's truck, haul cargo and get to know clients in an open world.

Truck Driver released on September 19, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version followed on November 17, 2020. Since May 27, 2021, the game has also been available for PC.

The technically revised Gold Edition released on June 27, 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On the PlayStation Store, June 26 is also listed for the PS5 version in some regions.

Truck Driver is natively available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. On PS5 and Xbox Series, the Gold Edition with improved tech and previously released expansions came out in 2025.

The Xbox Series and PS5 versions are standalone releases, not just the older console games via backward compatibility. The Switch version supports touchscreen, motion controls and HD Rumble.

Truck Driver combines freight deliveries with building your own driving career. In a connected landscape, you deliver to various businesses and meet the people who give you jobs.

Completing deliveries successfully opens new contacts and tasks. Different cargo and trailers change how the runs play out.

Truck Driver requires at least 4 GB RAM on Windows, a Core 2 Duo at 2.6 GHz or Athlon 64 X2 3800+, and a GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7970. DirectX 11 and 2 GB of free storage are also needed. The current Steam client requires Windows 10 or newer.

Recommended are 8 GB RAM, a 4th-generation Core i5 or AMD A10, and a GTX 770 or Radeon R9 270X. On macOS, Steam lists at least an Apple M1 with 8 GB RAM.

The Gold Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S includes the base game and the previously released expansions. These are Heading North, additional liveries and Hidden Places & Damage System.

The new console version improves anti-aliasing, reflections and draw distance, among other things. The day-night cycle has also been reworked. The driving gameplay and its missions remain essentially unchanged.

Heading North expands Truck Driver with the rural region of Mangefjell. New roads, clients and cargo await there. The story links the extra deliveries with the jobs from Uncle Karl.

Hidden Places & Damage System adds hidden locations and visible vehicle damage. Separately sold livery packs bring new designs for the trucks. The Gold Edition already includes these expansions.

On Nintendo Switch, Truck Driver supports motion controls, touchscreen, HD Rumble and a Joy-Con held horizontally. The truck simulation can be played in handheld, tabletop and TV modes. Nintendo lists German on-screen text and other languages.
