What is Two Point Museum?

Two Point Museum is a building sim in which you plan and run several museums. Instead of treating illnesses or managing a campus, you put together exhibitions, send specialists on expeditions and try to impress visitors with rare finds, good tours and working infrastructure.

The museums have different focuses, from dinosaur skeletons through aquariums and supernatural phenomena to science and space travel. Each theme changes which exhibits, rooms and tasks you need.

Gameplay

You set up exhibition areas, place exhibits, control routes through the building and organize tours. Visitors have different preferences. That's why, alongside exciting exhibitions, you also need toilets, food, shops and enough staff.

Good exhibits attract attention and help with funding. At the same time, you need to keep things clean, watch the condition of delicate objects and deal with safety problems, because careless children and thieves don't stop short of valuable pieces either.

How do expeditions work?

Specialists travel from your museum to dig sites across several expedition maps. There they recover new objects, which you can then display. As your career progresses, you open up more dig sites and unlock other exhibition themes.

Expeditions need suitable staff and planning. Specialists who are out of the museum are unavailable for work on site in the meantime. Switching between collecting, displaying and preserving finds forms the core of the game.

Which museums are there?

The main campaign is spread across five themed locations: Memento Mile focuses on prehistory, Passwater Cove on the aquarium, Wailon Lodge on the supernatural, Bungle Wasteland on science and Pebberley Heights on space travel.

There are also smaller task museums with fixed challenges. In sandbox mode, on the other hand, you can design your own large museums independently of the normal campaign order.

Staff, tours and security

Your staff take on expeditions, care for the collections and look after guests. Through work areas and task allocation, you make sure exhibitions keep running during longer expeditions.

Visitor tours connect exhibits into a route. How successful they are also depends on how appealing and easy to understand the exhibition areas are. Security staff protect valuable pieces from theft and damage.

How free is the design?

Rooms, paths, floors, walls and decorations can be combined into different themed worlds. You can display exhibits with matching plants, lighting and other furnishings, or lay out the floor plan for short routes and high visitor numbers.

The game offers over 350 decoration items and numerous exhibition categories. In sandbox mode, your own building projects take centre stage, while the campaign gradually unlocks new tools.
