What is Undead Horde?
Undead Horde is an action RPG with real-time strategy elements. As the necromancer Orcen, you don't fight alone: defeated enemies can be revived and then led as an undead army into further battles. Weapons, magic equipment and new unit types change how you approach fights.

Release
Undead Horde launched in Early Access on Steam on March 6, 2019. The full version came out for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on May 15, 2019. iOS followed on Oct 24, 2019, and Android on Nov 22, 2019. The standalone PS5 version is dated Nov 11, 2020 on the PlayStation Store.

Gameplay
Orcen joins the fight himself with weapons and spells, while his summoned fighters press enemy groups. You decide whether the army follows you or attacks. Battles thus alternate between direct action and deploying a growing force.
The journey leads through forests, deserts and devastated regions. Along the way you loot new equipment and unlock stronger options for your army.

For Windows, Steam lists a processor with 2.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM, a graphics card with Shader Model 3.0, DirectX 11 and 500 MB of free storage. The Steam software itself now requires Windows 10 or later. Separate minimum requirements for macOS and Linux are listed on Steam.

How does reviving work?
You can bring many defeated enemies back as your own soldiers. Graves and unlocked summoning statues also provide reinforcements. The number of undead you can command at once depends on Orcen's command capacity, which can be upgraded in the game.

More than a dozen unit types are available, including human archers and poisonous scorpions. New types become available by defeating certain enemies. On Steam, 10tons describes armies of up to 100 undead that can accompany the necromancer or attack on their own.

The story of Orcen
Paladins imprisoned the necromancer Orcen in a magic urn after the living drove out the undead. A chicken accidentally breaks the vessel and frees him. Orcen then marches against the paladins and their ruler to reclaim the lost kingdom.

Equipment, loot and merchants
Weapons, jewelry and magic items improve Orcen and his allies. Many items are created through random combinations of properties. You can sell unneeded loot to merchants or trade it for other equipment. Shops can also be upgraded.
