Warhammer Blood Bowl

Warhammer Blood Bowl continues Cyanide's turn-based fantasy football with the current board game rules from Games Workshop. As a coach, you put together a team from the Warhammer world, develop players and plan blocks, passes and touchdowns. Dice rolls can make even a well-prepared play fail.

Warhammer Blood Bowl is expected to release in Q4 2026. The new edition builds on Blood Bowl 3 and is offered free to its owners. Teams and cosmetic content already acquired remain intact.

Warhammer Blood Bowl is announced for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version will be offered via Steam. Standalone releases are planned for the new console versions.

The series remains turn-based fantasy football tactics based on Games Workshop's tabletop model. Warhammer Blood Bowl carries over the rules of the Third Season Edition and adds a faster seven-a-side mode called Rumble. Bretonnians and Tomb Kings are among the confirmed teams.

Warhammer Blood Bowl carries over the twelve starting factions from Blood Bowl 3 and adds the new Tomb Kings and Bretonnians teams. The other teams later released for the predecessor are offered as additional content. Already acquired DLC teams and cosmetics from Blood Bowl 3 should remain when switching.

These team packs expand tactical lineups but do not create new native platform versions. Switching is free for owners of the predecessor.

Steam lists the minimum requirements for Windows 10 as a Core i5-2300 or AMD FX-6350, 6 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 650 or Radeon HD 7770 with 1 GB VRAM each, DirectX 11 and 15 GB storage. Recommended are Core i5-4570 or Ryzen 3 1300X, 8 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 with 4 GB VRAM each.

Cyanide's usage data from Blood Bowl 3 shows that around 70 to 80 percent of matches in Eternal Leagues were played solo against the AI. For Warhammer Blood Bowl, a stronger computer AI is therefore among the key improvements.

Owners of Blood Bowl 3 are set to receive Warhammer Blood Bowl for free. Content already purchased or unlocked will be carried over to the new version, according to Slitherine.
