What is Warhammer Survivors?
Warhammer Survivors is a standalone action roguelite by Auroch Digital that moves the fight for survival against ever denser enemy waves into the worlds of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The focus is on individual playable heroes, experience points and weapons that can be combined during the current run. The game is made in collaboration with Games Workshop and poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors.
The game combines characters and locations from both Warhammer universes, but is not a DLC for Vampire Survivors and not an expansion of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. Auroch develops and publishes its own title with pixel graphics and separate progression.

Release
Warhammer Survivors is set to release on Nov 10, 2026. Auroch Digital and Warhammer Community both confirm the date. The date refers to the planned regular launch, not a release that has already happened.
The developers made a revised playable PC demo available in October. This should be distinguished from the announced full game: the demo offers only a limited selection of characters and systems. The full release is planned with more than 40 playable characters.

Platforms
The native launch is announced for Windows PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. The current Microsoft Store entry additionally explicitly lists Xbox One as a playable console platform and lists Xbox Play Anywhere as well as single-player and cloud saves.
Switch and Switch 2 as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series are treated here as separate native platform versions. Xbox Play Anywhere, by contrast, is an ecosystem feature and not an additional console release.

Gameplay
In each run, a hero moves through an arena while numerous enemies fill the playing field. Defeated enemies yield experience for new equipment and upgrades. The longer a run lasts, the more important the combination of positioning, attack range and weapon development becomes.
More than 75 weapons and numerous passive boosts are officially described. These include bolters, chainswords, axes, magic and unusual items from the tabletop world. Weapons can evolve into more powerful variants through matching upgrades. Large Extremis bosses require a different equipment setup than normal waves.

Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar
Warhammer Survivors divides its content not only by characters but also by locations and enemy groups. An abandoned Space Hulk and the scorched plains of Aqshy stand for different arenas. Tyranids and Orks belong to the sci-fi side, Skaven to Age of Sigmar.
The environments determine which factions you face, which threats appear and which secrets can be found. Both worlds share the basic principle but have their own characters, starting equipment and enemy designs.

Characters and individual playstyles
For the full launch, more than 40 heroes are announced. These include Malum Caedo from Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, and Neave Blacktalon and Gotrek Gurnisson. Characters start with different weapons and base stats.
A newly introduced character is Morvenn Vahl: her Paragon battle suit initially uses the heavy bolter Fidelis, whose advanced form also fires a rocket launcher. Lyssa Revenya, on the other hand, fights with a rope and grappling hook that can displace enemies. Her later weapon form calls forth the spirit of Rhea. These differences matter more for choosing a playstyle than the sheer size of the character list.

Unlocks between runs
Ending an attempt does not reset all progress. Gold collected improves your odds in later runs; more characters, weapons, passive abilities and relics are unlocked permanently. Secrets and collectibles hidden on the maps add to this long-term goal.
That distinguishes permanent upgrades from the temporary weapon upgrades within a single run.

Game series
Warhammer Survivors uses the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar brands with characters and enemies from both standalone game worlds. Auroch Digital is the responsible developer and publisher, known for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. The collaboration with poncle links the project to the makers of Vampire Survivors, though Survivors is not an add-on to it.
