Chicken Shoot for Nintendo DS turns the comic chicken hunt into a handheld shooting gallery with two screens. The actual target area appears on the top screen. On the bottom you keep an eye on time, points, ammo and other game data; you aim with buttons or the stylus, depending on the control scheme you choose.
Arcade, Classic and egg catching
The DS version offers short rounds with changing goals: in Arcade mode the aim is to hit enough chickens, while Classic focuses on scoring as many points as possible within a time limit. In the additional minigame you catch falling eggs. Hidden targets and different weapons add small bonus actions. Multiplayer matches with friends were also part of the concept of the original cartridge version.
Standalone Nintendo version
This version, developed by Frontline Studios and released in Europe by Zoo Digital Publishing, came out in August 2007. It is a standalone Nintendo DS cartridge, not a Steam version and not additional content for Chicken Shoot Gold on PC. The ratings listed on the European packaging cover are PEGI 3 and USK 6.
