Umihara Kawase Shun was released on Oct 29, 2009 for Nintendo DS under the Japanese sales title Umihara Kawase Shun: Second Edition Kanzenban. This handheld game adapts the PlayStation Shun version with its characteristic elastic fishing line and additionally includes the first Umihara Kawase from the Super Famicom.
Two classics and new fields
Kawase attaches the fishing hook to walls and ceilings to swing over gaps, water pools and obstacles. Several exit doors lead to different field sequences. The DS version adds extra fields and entry aids to the source material; thanks to the two screens, the route overview is always in view. Game recordings can be saved and exchanged via local DS wireless.
Standalone DS version
Genterprise released the collection, which only came out in Japan, after a revised port supervised by developers of the original series. The Japanese Nintendo product overview lists it as Nintendo DS software for one player with optional local wireless for exchanging replays.
