Detective VR puts you in a criminal investigation where not only the statements of those involved but even the timeline of events is up for question. In this mystery adventure, developed exclusively for virtual reality, you investigate a puzzling story from a first-person perspective, photograph found objects and question witness statements.

Rewind crime scenes and uncover contradictions

Instead of having clues marked for you, you enter the scenes yourself, observe the six characters and look for suspicious details. The time control lets you pause, rewind and replay conversations and action sections. For example, a contradiction that stayed hidden on the first playthrough can come to light. Your findings land on an investigation wall, where you link photos, clues and witness statements.

A murder case with eleven scenes

The developers cite about five hours of story, eleven sequences to investigate and six characters performed through motion capture. What matters is whether you can draw coherent connections from your observations. It is a calm, story-driven single-player adventure with puzzles, not an action shooter.

PC VR version: Detective VR was released on Steam on Sep 9, 2026 (App 3939360). A compatible SteamVR headset and suitable PC hardware are required. The Steam version has English and French voice audio; German text is available as subtitles. The PS5 version, released at the same time, requires PlayStation VR2. There is also an older, standalone Quest mixed reality app from February 2025.
