Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories takes you to the Miami-inspired Vice City of 1984. Former soldier Victor “Vic” Vance wants to keep his family afloat, but after a consequential job he loses his place in the military. Amid drug trafficking, rival gangs and corrupt power games, he sinks deeper into the underworld. His brother Lance urges him to build a criminal empire of his own.
Vice City on the go
The action-adventure developed for PlayStation Portable lets you explore the open city with cars, motorcycles, boats and helicopters. Story missions and car chases are joined by side missions, hidden collectibles and a dedicated Empire-Building-System: take over businesses of rival gangs, decide how they are used and defend the income. The colorful eighties setting is accompanied by radio stations and a standalone prequel to the classic GTA: Vice City.
Original PSP version with ad hoc multiplayer
Rockstar first released Vice City Stories on Oct 31, 2006 in North America for PSP; the European release followed in November 2006. Unlike the later PlayStation 2 version, the PSP version supports local ad hoc multiplayer matches with up to six players. The original game was released on UMD; a classic PSP disc is not a Windows or Steam key. A separate native PC or smartphone port does not exist. The later PlayStation 3 availability consisted of emulated PS2 Classics content and is not an additional native version.
