Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first-person shooter by Treyarch about secret military operations during the Cold War. The game offers a single-player campaign, competitive multiplayer, training against computer-controlled opponents and a cooperative Zombies mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops was released on November 9, 2010 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS.

The initial release included versions for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS version was developed by n-Space. Later, versions for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 also came out.

Black Ops features linear missions from a first-person perspective. Multiplayer offers a choice of classes, equipment options and game rules.

After release, four major expansion packs followed: First Strike, Escalation, Annihilation and Rezurrection. Rezurrection adds the Moon mission and other maps to the Zombies mode.

The campaign is set during the Cold War and follows a series of covert operations. The story follows a fixed mission sequence and combines political tensions with military action.

In multiplayer mode, you can customise classes and equipment. Black Ops introduced COD Points as an in-game currency. In special Wager Matches, players can bet these points on the outcome of a match.

In the cooperative Zombies mode, up to four players try to survive endless waves of enemies together. Unlocked areas and better equipment help you progress.

The standalone DS version was developed by n-Space and also released in November 2010. It offers online matches with up to six players, co-op missions for two players, and Arcade and Challenge modes, among other things.

With Combat Training, players can practice multiplayer rules against AI opponents. Theater mode lets you watch recorded matches again and look at individual game situations more closely.

The original versions for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 support stereoscopic 3D on compatible devices. This requires suitable displays and 3D glasses.
