Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II continues the Modern Warfare reboot that launched in 2019. Once again, the focus is on Task Force 141 with Captain Price, Ghost, Soap and Gaz; a new ally, Alejandro Vargas from the Mexican special forces, joins them.

Infinity Ward combines a worldwide single-player campaign with competitive multiplayer and cooperative Special Ops missions.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was released on Oct 28, 2022. It launched simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. On PC, Call of Duty with Modern Warfare II also returned to Steam, in addition to Battle.net.

Modern Warfare II was released natively for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version is available through Steam and Battle.net.

Modern Warfare II builds on the familiar Call of Duty formula with swimming, underwater sections, vehicles, a reworked AI and a rebuilt Gunsmith for weapon platforms and attachments.

On PC, Modern Warfare II requires Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 12 and around 125 GB of free storage. Minimum specs include Intel Core i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, and GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon RX 470.

For the recommended configuration, the PC version lists Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, 8 GB RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1060, Radeon RX 580 or Intel Arc A770.

Alongside the campaign, Modern Warfare II offers competitive multiplayer modes and cooperative Special Ops. Multiplayer combines classic 6v6 matches with larger battles, while Special Ops focuses on tactical co-op missions.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat was part of the online infrastructure at launch. Many of the systems introduced with Modern Warfare II were developed together with the Warzone 2.0 generation at the time.
