Cozy Grove

Cozy Grove is a life simulation about a camping trip on a haunted island. As a ghost finder, you help bear spirits process their memories, explore changing landscapes and set up your own campsite.

The hand-drawn environment gradually regains its color as you help its residents. Unlike many building games, no single big mission drives the flow; instead, it's the small stories and tasks of the individual islanders.

Cozy Grove was first released on Apple Arcade for iOS on March 19, 2021. The PC version followed on Steam on April 7, 2021, and PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 8, 2021.

On Xbox One, the German Xbox Store lists April 7, while the US store gives April 8. The native PlayStation 5 version was released on June 22, 2023, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on March 12, 2026.

Cozy Grove has been released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. On Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox One version can be played via backward compatibility, without becoming a separate native Series version.

The original Apple Arcade version for iPhone and iPad is no longer available. Apple removed the game from the service on Feb 15, 2024. Versions already installed could still be launched until Feb 29, 2024.

You search for hidden items, talk to bear spirits, collect resources and complete tasks for the residents. Add to that fishing, looking after the ghost animals, cooking and crafting items for your campsite.

The different spirits tell their own stories. As you help them, island areas change and further options unlock. Cozy Grove is a single-player game with no competitive multiplayer mode.

The New Neighbears expansion was released on April 26, 2022. It adds four bear spirits with their own longer stories. The new residents unlock after you have helped some of the original spirits.

The add-on also expands the island with butterflies to collect, clothing, an extra music track and more wardrobe storage. New Neighbears requires the base game and is not a standalone sequel.

On Windows, Cozy Grove requires at least Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5 at 2.5 GHz or equivalent performance, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 3 GB storage.

Recommended: an Intel Core i7 at 3.0 GHz, 8 GB RAM, a graphics card from the GeForce 10 or Radeon RX 500 series and 5 GB storage. The PC version offers German text and subtitles.

Cozy Grove follows real time and the calendar. Each day brings roughly 30 to 60 minutes of new tasks, after which you can keep fishing, collecting materials and decorating.

The game is designed for short, regular visits. The story cannot be fully advanced by completing all tasks at lightning speed in one evening.

The ghostly bears are at the heart of the story. Each resident has personal memories, needs and their own story, which unfolds over several encounters.

You don't just help the spirits search for items. Gradually you learn why they stayed on the island and what brings them peace. The unlocked stories and increasingly colorful landscapes give your exploration a sense of progress.

From collected materials you craft furniture and decorations, place them in your camp and design the island the way you like. Clothing and various collectibles are also part of long-term progress.

Fishing and catching small critters keep you busy beyond the daily tasks. The camp is therefore more than just a backdrop; over many play days it develops into an individually designed place.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was released on March 12, 2026. It offers 1080p in handheld mode, up to 4K in TV mode and a higher frame rate.

Owners of the original Switch version can get the improvements through a separate upgrade pack. Nintendo explicitly distinguishes this pack from the full Switch 2 game. New Neighbears remains separately available additional content.

Cozy Grove can be played on PC with a German user interface and German subtitles. The focus is on the relaxed single-player experience and the slow development of your island.

The Nintendo version also supports German. The Switch 2 Edition also features touchscreen support and local handheld, tabletop and TV play modes.
