What is Stardew Valley?
Stardew Valley is an open-ended farming RPG by ConcernedApe. You take over your late grandfather's old farm, restore its fields and buildings, and build a new life in Pelican Town. Farming is the foundation, but everyday life goes well beyond it: getting to know villagers, building friendships and relationships, attending festivals, fishing, cooking, crafting items, and exploring the mines for resources and monsters.
The game doesn't force a narrow campaign path. Seasons, crop planning, expanding the farm and decisions around the Community Center set long-term goals, while you set your own pace and focus.

Platforms
Stardew Valley was released natively on Windows, macOS and Linux, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, and iOS and Android. The Nintendo Switch 2 has its own edition. Playing older console versions on newer hardware via backward compatibility is a different matter and not a separate native release.
Co-op features vary by platform and version. On PC, the current version supports online co-op for up to eight players, as well as local split-screen. The Switch 2 edition also offers its own local and online features.

Gameplay
The core loop combines farming, animal husbandry and resource management with RPG elements. Crops follow the seasons, animals and machines expand production, and crafting turns resources into tools, processing stations and useful items. Meanwhile, the mines are worth the trip, where combat, ore and rare finds await.
Pelican Town is just as important as the farm. The residents have their own routines and stories, friendships can develop into relationships, and festivals, fishing, cooking and quests make sure a game day rarely revolves only around the harvest. Update 1.6 further deepens the endgame with the Mastery system, new festivals and the Meadowlands Farm.
