DAMON and BABY

DAMON and BABY is an action-adventure with twin-stick shooter combat and an interconnected world full of hidden paths. The demon Damon must protect a child he is bound to by a curse. His journey leads through bizarre cities, dangerous ruins and areas with their own boss enemies.

Between missions, Damon returns to his base, upgrades his equipment and prepares new exploration trips. The game comes from Arc System Works.

DAMON and BABY released on Mar 25, 2026 for PC via Steam. The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions followed on Mar 26, 2026.

On Feb 18, 2027, the free additional story chapter Rise of the Oracle releases. At the same time, a retail version with the base game and expansion arrives for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

DAMON and BABY is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. A standalone digital Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been announced. Owners of the Switch version should be able to purchase an upgrade pack for it.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a separate platform version, not just backward compatibility.

Damon can aim in all directions and switch between firearms and melee attacks. Pistols, machine guns and other weapons differ in range, ammo, reload time and mobility. Against bosses, the key is recognizing attack patterns and using the terrain.

Combat flows directly into exploration. New abilities open up paths that were blocked at the start and reward returning to areas you have already visited.

Rise of the Oracle releases on Feb 18, 2027, free for owners of the digital version. The new chapter takes Damon to the East Asian-inspired in-between world of Yomotsu-Hirasaka. There he searches for three sacred treasures and encounters new enemies and characters from Japanese legend.

The new characters include the young exorcist Mikoto Yugeno, her mentor Izuna and Gedomaru, who trades items for mana. The new story adds another journey beyond the original adventure.

Minimum requirements for the PC version are Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5 quad-core processor at 2.7 GHz, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 750 with 2 GB video memory and 6 GB free storage space.

Recommended: an Intel Core i7-6700, 16 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB video memory and 10 GB free storage space.

Damon dreams of becoming the Great Demon King. Instead, a dying friend leaves him a mysterious child. When the agreed reward fails to materialize, Damon loses his powers and is additionally cursed: he can no longer stray far from the child.

On the way to heaven, the two encounter an angel, a vampire and other unusual companions. Enemies repeatedly try to kidnap the child.

The Baby Jump combines movement and defense: Damon teleports to the child and is protected from attacks during the jump. As the story progresses, further movement and combat abilities are added.

The system makes the distance between Damon and the child part of both combat and exploration.

New weapons, skills, rings, talismans and food effects can be tuned to different playstyles. High firepower doesn't help in every encounter: against some enemies, dodging and distance matter more than raw damage.

Damon's appearance can also be changed with unlockable outfits. The Deluxe Edition additionally includes digital illustrations and a soundtrack, but no second campaign.

The individual regions have branching routes, hidden passages, collectibles and their own boss fights. Stronger enemies require adjustments to equipment and movement. Once you have acquired a new ability, you can search earlier areas again for additional paths.

DAMON and BABY can be played by two people on one device. The second player takes control of a dog that collects items and supports Damon in combat. Co-op mode is designed for playing together offline.

The PC version supports German on-screen text and subtitles. English, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, simplified and traditional Chinese, and Korean are also available.

On Steam, single player, local co-op, controller support and Steam Cloud are supported.

Arc System Works develops and publishes DAMON and BABY itself. The Japanese studio is known for fighting game series such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, among others. Unlike those, DAMON and BABY focuses on exploration, equipment crafting and a continuous adventure story.
