Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a 2D fighting game set in the fantasy universe of Granblue Fantasy. Two characters face off against each other from a side view. Simplified inputs make it easy to get started, while timing, distance and defense shape demanding duels.

Arc System Works developed the game for Cygames. You can choose from a story campaign, training, online lobbies and mini-games.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising was released on Dec 14, 2023 for PC, PS4 and PS5. The Nintendo Switch 2 version was released on Sep 17, 2026 as the Legendary Edition.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The PC version was released on Steam. The Switch 2 version is a separate edition.

Online fights and party mini-games support crossplay across all four platforms. On Switch 2, Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play.

Duels combine attacks, blocks, special abilities and counters. Special attacks can be performed with simple inputs. Alternatively, manual commands can be used.

Frame data and colored training displays help you understand the effect and recovery time of attacks. Correct timing and distance from opponents are also important.

The Legendary Edition includes the main game, two Deluxe character passes and the additional fighter Id. On Nintendo Switch 2, the package includes 40 playable characters as well as additional costumes and colors.

On the other platforms, the character expansions are also available separately.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising requires at least Windows 11 64-bit, 4 GB RAM and 20 GB storage on PC. Steam lists a graphics card in the Radeon HD 6870 or GeForce GTX 650 Ti class and DirectX 11.

Online fights use rollback netcode and support crossplay between PC, PS4, PS5 and Switch 2. There are ranked matches, casual duels and private rooms.

Grand Bruise Legends offers obstacle and survival games for up to 30 players. The mini-games take place in their own arenas.

The story campaign also covers the story of the previous Granblue Fantasy Versus. It also includes arcade fights and extensive training options.

In the character studio, you can create your own scenes with characters, backgrounds and lighting.

Gyro Versus lets you perform attacks and combos on Nintendo Switch 2 by moving the Joy-Con. This variant is not available for ranked and casual online matches.

Local duels between two Switch 2 consoles work without an internet connection. Super Ultimate+ offers fights with especially strong characters.

The Free Edition offers online duels with four rotating characters and Grand Bruise Legends. Other characters and some modes are restricted. Your game progress can be transferred to the full version.

The Standard edition contains the regular game. The Legendary Edition combines the game with extensive character expansions.
