Digimon Story Time Stranger

Digimon Story Time Stranger is a turn-based RPG by Media.Vision. As an agent of the organization ADAMAS, the main character investigates a catastrophe threatening the human and digital worlds. The journey takes them through Tokyo, the Digital World Iliad and various time periods.

The game tells a standalone story with familiar Digimon, new allies and the Olympos XII. The core gameplay is building a team of Digimon that are captured, trained and evolved.

The international launch took place on Oct 3, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The regional Steam date display may show Oct 2. Separate native Nintendo versions were released on Jul 10, 2026 for Switch and Switch 2.

Standard, Digital Deluxe and Digital Ultimate are different content packages for the same game. Higher editions bundle the Season Pass, costumes and other extras. They do not form separate native game versions.

Digimon Story Time Stranger is released for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The ports for both Nintendo systems were made by h.a.n.d. and are sold separately.

On Switch 2 there is a quality mode with up to 4K and HDR, and a performance mode with up to 60 frames per second in Full HD. The PC version has Steam achievements and cloud saves.

Battles are turn-based. Units have different attributes, traits and skills that must be matched when building your team. Over 450 Digimon can be collected and trained.

The campaign includes exploration, conversations and activities with your own Digimon. Their development unlocks additional abilities and new tactical combinations.

The Season Pass includes three episode packs, each with five more Digimon and their own stories. Costumes, extra dungeons and music packs are also available. The Digifarm item Golden Moai is a Season Pass bonus.

For 2027, the large expansion A Hero's Eternal Legacy was announced. It takes place three years after the conflicts with the Olympos XII and is set to lead more than 50 new Digimon into previously unexplored regions of Iliad. An exact release date has not yet been confirmed.

Steam lists an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 970 or Radeon RX 580, and 27 GB storage as the minimum. Recommended are a Core i7-11700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM and a GTX 980 or Radeon Vega 56.

The manufacturer's specifications refer to Windows and cannot be applied to the console versions.

The Digifarm creates a dedicated area for training and care. Digitation and different evolution paths allow collected Digimon to take on new roles in the team. Preparing your partners is therefore an independent part of progress alongside the turn-based battles.

After an incident in Tokyo, your character wakes up eight years in the past. The organisation ADAMAS investigates how the events of the human world and the Digital World Iliad are connected. The story also leads to Inori Misono, Aegiomon and the Olympos XII.

The time jumps form the narrative framework for the search for the origin of the looming destruction of both worlds.

In Quality mode, the Switch 2 version is designed for up to 4K with HDR at 30 fps when docked. Performance mode targets 60 fps in Full HD, including in handheld mode. These modes are specific features of the native Switch 2 edition and not guaranteed performance on the older Switch.
