Dune: Imperium

Dune: Imperium is the digital board game adaptation by Dire Wolf. As the leader of a great house, players compete for influence and spice on Arrakis. The mix of deck building, agent deployment and conflicts rewards military success as much as political alliances.

The digital version adds computer-controlled opponents, challenges and online matches.

Dune: Imperium was released on Mar 13, 2024 for PC, Xbox, iOS and Android. Early Access on Steam began on Nov 14, 2023.

Dune: Imperium is available for Windows PC, macOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, iPhone, iPad and Android. Online matches support crossplay. On Xbox, Smart Delivery links the two console generations.

Each round, players draw five cards. Each card can send an agent to an action space or be revealed later to acquire new cards. Whoever plays a card early loses its buying power for the rest of the turn.

Spice and Solari enable further actions. In the conflicts of each round, the houses fight for resources and victory points.

Three major expansions change the board game rules. Rise of Ix adds new technologies and ships. Immortality adds research and new combinations of card effects. Uprising replaces the board and many cards with its own variants. Each expansion requires the base game.

On Windows, Dune: Imperium requires at least Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD Ryzen 3 2200G, 4 GB RAM and 2 GB of free storage. Minimum graphics are Intel HD 2000 or AMD Vega 8. For macOS, Steam lists at least macOS 10.15 and 4 GB RAM.

With the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit and the Fremen, players gain influence. Progress on the faction tracks brings rewards and victory points. Alongside combat, diplomacy and resource planning therefore count.

You can play alone against AI opponents. In online matches, two to four people compete. The game supports cross-platform play.

Uprising was released on Jun 9, 2026. The expansion replaces the base game board, the card deck and the conflicts. Nine leaders and new rules for sandworms, contracts and spies change strategies on Arrakis. More challenges and skirmish rules add to the digital version.

Rise of Ix was released on Jul 31, 2024 and adds technologies, dreadnoughts and new cards. Immortality followed on Jun 10, 2025. The Graft rule lets you combine card effects.

Dune: Imperium offers German menus and other text languages. On PC, the port supports gamepads, while on Xbox, cloud saves and achievements are available. Online matches require a Dire Wolf account.
