What is GRID Legends?

GRID Legends is a racing game from Codemasters that combines several motorsport disciplines in a mix of accessible controls and driving challenge. Rather than depicting a single championship, it combines street races, circuit races, drifts, elimination races and races with different vehicle classes. A staged story, the extensive career and the freely configurable Race Creator offer three different ways into motorsport.

The original title came out in 2022 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Feral Interactive later brought adapted versions to other systems, including macOS, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch 2.

Platforms

The original versions were released natively for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. There is also a separate Meta Quest version. Feral Interactive handles ports for macOS and mobile devices as well as Nintendo Switch 2. The latter is explicitly a Switch 2 version and not a Switch 1 version.

Content varies: on PC and the original consoles you get the base game with separately sold expansions or the Deluxe upgrade. On macOS, iOS, Android and Switch 2, Feral offers the Deluxe Edition including the DLC packs. Cross-platform races from the original online mode must not be automatically assumed for all later ports.

Gameplay

GRID Legends combines touring cars, GT cars, open-wheel cars and other classes in fast race events. The Race Creator lets you combine different vehicle types in one starting grid and adjust track conditions with weather, time of day and additional track elements. Racers react dynamically during the race and create constantly shifting battles for position.

Smaller content such as Mechanic Pass and Seneca & Ravenwest Double Pack is listed separately.

Anyone who owns the original standard edition can buy packs individually or via the Deluxe upgrade. The Deluxe editions published by Feral Interactive for Mac, mobile devices and Switch 2 include the additional content.

Game series

GRID Legends belongs to the GRID racing series and was developed by Codemasters. The publisher of the original game is Electronic Arts. The series focuses on varied motorsport classes and direct duels rather than a full simulation of a single racing series.

For the later ports, Feral Interactive acted as developer and publisher of the respective Deluxe version. The Nintendo Switch 2 version therefore does not come directly from the original PC/console release, but is a standalone port with adapted controls and graphics.
