Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is a completely new entry in the zombie action series featuring Juliet Starling. Rather than another remake, the game continues the series with a new story. Juliet returns to the rebuilt San Romero, which is now called Jaredwood and has developed into a huge metropolis centred on the film industry.

At the centre of the story is a mysterious director who holds Juliet captive in his twisted zombie film. Together with her allies, she must uncover the background of the chaos and face a new threat from zombies from the so-called Corrupted Realm.

Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is set to release in 2027. There is no specific release date yet. The official announcement came around Tokyo Game Show 2026, where a playable version was already shown.

So far, only one version for PlayStation 5 has been officially confirmed. No other platforms were named with the title announcement. For now, the PS5 version should be understood as the only confirmed native release.

Back2Back stays true to the series' over-the-top zombie action. Juliet fights large enemy groups with her chainsaw, while the colourful pop aesthetic deliberately contrasts with the brutal action. For the new game she gets a new outfit and an upgraded chainsaw.

The demo playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 now shows much more concretely how the combat system feels. Juliet has fast Cheer attacks with shorter reach, slower but longer-reaching chainsaw attacks, and additional powerful Chainsaw attacks. The chainsaw has its own energy meter and can also be used for the Chainsaw Dash, which lets Juliet race quickly through the level sections.

The roughly ten-minute demo leads through a zombie street and then into a more heavily pink-themed area with a boss fight. Besides the main route, there is at least one alternative path. The series stays explicit: the TGS version showed both blood and severable limbs.

The new Jaredwood setting continues to combine action with a film theme: a mysterious director pulls Juliet into a twisted zombie film. A playable version of the game will be shown at TGS 2026.
