Release

in 6 months

Aniplex has announced April 22, 2027 as the release date for MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA. Separate versions are planned for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. A native Xbox Series release has not been announced.

The American Steam store currently shows April 21, 2027. The publisher has not yet released a specific unlock time that fully explains this regional difference. The release overview therefore uses the Aniplex announcement from Sept 11, 2026 and continues to label the launch as planned. The older official game website still sometimes shows the less precise window "Early 2027".

Gameplay

The combat system remains a fast 2D fighter with local and online PvP, but is expanded compared to TYPE LUMINA. New characters such as Len and Black Len join the roster, while existing characters receive new abilities.

The new Grand Scenario Mode is a standalone story focus with a completely new scenario by Kinoko Nasu and a planned playtime of around 20 hours. The presentation switches between full-screen visual novel scenes in the style of Tsukihime and adventure sections with their own camera work, backgrounds, music and pixel art.

Choices can lead to different routes and bad endings; even won battles can affect further story progress. In addition, the Act Control mode was developed to make it easier for fighting game beginners to get into the battles.
