What is Overcooked! All You Can Eat?

Overcooked! All You Can Eat combines the two cooperative cooking games Overcooked! and Overcooked! 2, including expansions, in a standalone, reworked version. Up to four chefs must prepare dishes under time pressure, distribute orders correctly and coordinate in kitchens with constantly changing obstacles.

The collection brings together the stories, levels and extras of both predecessors. Added to that are new kitchens, additional playable characters, online multiplayer for the locations from the first game, and assists that make the difficulty adjustable.

Gameplay

In each kitchen, ingredients must be chopped, cooked, combined and served on time. Some dishes require several steps. If you wait too long, you lose orders or set the kitchen on fire. Tasks can be divided among the chefs, but transport routes and work surfaces are limited.

Elevators, moving platforms, shifting rooms and other obstacles make teamwork more demanding. The main campaigns lead through numerous locations in the Onion Kingdom and reward fast, error-free runs with stars.

Co-op and crossplay

Up to four players can cook together locally or online. Crossplay connects PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The kitchens from the first Overcooked! can also be played online and across platforms.

For the campaign, you invite players directly. In Arcade mode, public matches with strangers are possible. Local players can join an online round together. All participants need All You Can Eat; a direct shared match with owners of Overcooked! 2 is not possible.

Campaign, Arcade and Versus

The campaigns of Overcooked! and Overcooked! 2 make up the largest part of the game. To practice individual kitchens, use the practice mode. Survival mode, by contrast, focuses on lasting as long as possible.

Arcade mode lets you play with randomly assigned teammates. There are also Versus matches, where teams compete on completing their orders. In multiplayer, players can talk to each other via voice chat if they enable it.

Assist mode

Assist mode makes difficult kitchens more accessible. Players can extend rounds, set more time for orders, increase point rewards or turn off order expiry entirely.

Further settings allow skipping individual levels, shorten the wait after a mistake or prevent fires caused by burnt food. The aids can be adjusted without changing the challenges of the normal way of playing.

Accessibility

The game offers a scalable user interface with several font sizes and a font variant for people with dyslexia. More clearly distinguishable colors for displays help tell the individual chefs apart.

Players can also reduce camera shake and flashing effects. These options complement the assist mode, which adjusts time pressure, orders and individual gameplay hurdles.

Over 200 kitchens and many chefs

More than 200 kitchens are spread across the campaigns and additional content. After three free content updates, the collection includes 22 kitchens designed specifically for All You Can Eat.

The character selection offers more than 60 chefs and over 130 alternative appearances. The additional variety mainly concerns the design of the characters. The basic goal stays the same in all levels: prepare dishes efficiently and serve them on time.

Save games and differences from the originals

Save games from Overcooked! and Overcooked! 2 cannot be transferred to All You Can Eat. There is also no shared save between different platforms. Anyone playing the collection on PC and console starts from scratch each time.

All You Can Eat includes both older campaigns and their expansions in reworked form. The original games are separate products. Especially for online co-op play of the first campaign and for cross-platform groups, the collection offers additional options.

Game series

Ghost Town Games and Team17 Digital developed Overcooked! All You Can Eat; the game was published by Team17 Digital. The collection builds on the two previously separate parts of the Overcooked! series.

The levels of the first game were technically re-implemented for the shared version. This means the classic Overcooked! kitchens can now be played online with friends for the first time. A separate save is created that cannot be carried over from the older parts.
