REANIMAL

REANIMAL is a dark horror adventure in which two siblings search a distorted island for their missing friends. The journey combines exploration, puzzles and escape from grotesque creatures. Tarsier Studios previously developed the first two Little Nightmares games.

REANIMAL launched on Feb 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. All four versions came out at the same time.

REANIMAL is available natively on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. On PC, the game is sold on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store, among others. The Switch 2 version is a standalone release, not just the compatibility version of a Switch game.

You guide the siblings through abandoned places and threatening landscapes. On land and on water you explore the island, solve environmental puzzles and escape enemies you can't simply fight off with weapons. The presentation uses a shared, deliberately guided camera.

REANIMAL: The Prisoner launched on Aug 7, 2026 as an additional story chapter. It follows the new characters Soldier and Prisoner through war-torn streets. This content kicks off a total of three announced expansions and is available separately or in the Season Pass. The base game is required.

On PC, REANIMAL requires at least Windows 10 or 11, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 480, and 18 GB storage. 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT are recommended. An internet connection is listed in the system requirements.

A brother and his sister return to an island they once called home. There they search for friends while increasingly disturbing encounters shape their journey. The environment and the creatures tell parts of the story without explicitly explaining every meaning.

REANIMAL can be played solo, in local co-op and online with a partner. The shared camera keeps both characters close together. Using the Friend’s Pass, a second player can be invited for free, even if they don’t own the full game themselves. Crossplay is supported for online co-op.

The Friend’s Pass lets a second person join the co-op adventure without buying their own full game. For this way of playing, only one of the two players needs the full game. The Friend’s Pass is not a standalone game with a separate campaign.

The game world consists of ruined places, overgrown paths and menacing interiors. You explore some sections by boat. The monsters draw on motifs from the children's past and, together with the architecture, create the oppressive atmosphere.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the main game, the Season Pass for three additional story chapters, and the Foxhead and Muttonhead masks. The Standard edition includes the main game. Individual expansions are also sold separately.

The PC version supports German on-screen text and German voice-over, among others. Steam recommends a controller for controls. Available languages may differ between platform versions.
