Sker: The Bleeding Veil

Sker: The Bleeding Veil is an announced first-person survival horror game focused on stealth mechanics. Unlike the wave-based co-op shooter Sker Ritual, the new series entry follows a single-player story. It is being developed by Wales Interactive and Stormind Games, known for the Remothered series.

The setting is a former orphanage. The focus is on sounds, hidden paths and the question of when a distraction is safer than complete silence.

The official Steam listing gives Q2 2027 for the PC release, meaning April to June. No specific calendar day has been published yet. The game can be added to your wishlist on Steam, but it is not yet available.

Publisher is Wales Interactive. The date refers to a planned release period, not a launch that has already happened.

For Windows PC, Sker: The Bleeding Veil is announced on Steam for Q2 2027. PlayStation 5 also has an official PlayStation Store listing. So far, Sony only gives the year 2027, not the quarter listed for PC.

The announcement coverage also names Xbox Series X|S. A standalone official Xbox Store page with a platform or date is not confirmed. For PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Switch 2, no native release is confirmed.

Sker: The Bleeding Veil is a survival horror game from a first-person perspective. Players should hide, hold their breath and plan their steps so the enemies cannot hear them. Noise can also be used deliberately to distract pursuers.

Sneaking and solving puzzles are in the foreground. The new part therefore does not adopt the wave-based co-op shooter principle of Sker Ritual.

The current Steam listing gives as minimum an Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-6300, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon R7 260X with 2 GB graphics memory, DirectX 11 and 20 GB storage. The details are subject to change, as the game has not yet been released.

The listed older Windows versions should be distinguished from the current requirements of the Steam client: Steam itself now requires Windows 10 or newer.

In 1924, Gareth Morgan searches for his younger sister Elin. To do so he returns to the orphanage where both grew up. Sister Gwenllian has gathered former orphans there again. Their rituals are connected to the Siren's Song from the world of Sker.

The story takes place after the events of Sker Hotel and expands the horror universe's story with a new family and a new setting.

The enemies known as Listeners were blinded under Sister Gwenllian's care. They track sounds, search neighboring rooms and even listen in on hiding spots. Just a shard of glass under a shoe or a cough can give away Gareth's position.

The enemies act based on what they hear. This makes the question of when a movement is safe an essential challenge.

Gareth has tuning forks that he can use to influence elements of the environment. Another special feature is the wind-up carillon: its interchangeable sound cylinders play different melodies that can stun, confuse or distract certain enemies.

The instruments are not ordinary firearms. Their usefulness depends on whether silence, a targeted distraction or a brief escape matters most at that moment.

The Steam version is listed as a single-player game. German menus and subtitles are listed, but full voice acting is English only. Other text languages include French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Welsh.

Steam lists controller support and other input options. A co-op or multiplayer mode has not yet been officially announced for The Bleeding Veil.
