Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered

Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered is the technically rebuilt version of the first Remothered chapter. Stormind Games moves the psychological survival horror into Unreal Engine 5 without fundamentally redesigning the story, core mechanics or balance.

At the centre is Rosemary Reed, who, under a pretext, enters the remote estate of Richard Felton to investigate the disappearance of the young Celeste. The research develops into a flight-and-pursuit situation in which observation, hiding and sparing use of aids matter more than open combat.

Stormind Games plans Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered for Q1 2027. A specific release date has not yet been announced.

Buyers of a digital original are to be able to upgrade to the Remastered Edition at no extra cost within the first seven days after release. Stormind names PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store for this; physical copies and copies received for free are excluded from the offer.

The remake is announced for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The Steam page for PC is already available; PlayStation is releasing a native PS5 version and Microsoft the version optimised for Xbox Series X|S.

Tormented Fathers relies on several survival approaches: Rosemary can watch and avoid enemies, hide, use distractions or, to a limited extent, use items for defence. Sounds and 3D audio give clues as to whether a pursuer is approaching; there are no classic health bars.

The Remastered Edition is meant to leave this basic framework unchanged. Stormind explicitly describes gameplay, mechanics, balance and feel as preserved.

Stormind is rebuilding the remake from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. This includes Lumen for dynamic global illumination, newly built environment assets with higher-resolution models, materials and textures, revised character models, modernised cutscenes, and newly designed menus and UI.

In addition, legacy issues and known bugs from the original release are to be eliminated. The visual and technical overhaul is meant to strengthen the existing atmosphere rather than reinvent the game's content.

Rosemary Reed travels to the house of the reclusive Richard Felton because she is searching for the missing Celeste. Her cover does not last long: as soon as Felton recognises her intent, the investigation tips into a dangerous hunt through the estate. Nurse Gloria and other characters are part of a psychological web of obsession, secrets and unreliable perceptions.
