SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide, known in German as SpongeBob Schwammkopf: Giganten der Gezeiten, is a single-player platformer from Purple Lamp. A feud between the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune brings ghostly beings to Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob and Patrick try to end the haunting.

Both characters can be switched directly during the game. Their different abilities are required for jumping sections, puzzles and battles.

On Nov 18, 2025 Titans of the Tide was released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The standalone Nintendo Switch version was released on Oct 13, 2026.

The Switch release is not just backward compatibility for the Switch 2 version: the original console gets its own game offering.

The native versions are available for PC (Windows), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. A separate version is available for the original Switch. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are not among the announced native platforms.

On Nintendo Switch, TV, tabletop and handheld modes are available. The game is designed for one player. There is no online co-op and no local two-player mode.

SpongeBob and Patrick solve environmental puzzles using different moves. Patrick can dig in and reach distant spots with a grappling move. Switching characters is therefore one of the core game mechanics.

The journey leads through Neptune’s Palace, icy areas at Mount Bikini and other locations. Boss enemies include the Flying Dutchman, King Neptune and Hibernation Sandy.

The Tidal Season Pass adds two playable challenges to Titans of the Tide: Plankton’s Portal Challenge and Search for SquarePants Challenge. Both were released on Dec 19, 2025.

The package also includes the Search for SquarePants Costume Pack and the Double Deluxe Costume Pack. The latter was released on Feb 3, 2026. The costume packs change how the characters look, while the Challenge expansions add new tasks.

On Windows 10, Titans of the Tide requires at least a Ryzen 3 1300X or Core i5-3570K, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 470. The PC version requires 11 GB of free storage space.

Recommended: Windows 11, a Ryzen 5 5600X or Core i5-12400, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3060, Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580. DirectX 11 is required.

The conflict between King Neptune and the Flying Dutchman brings ghostly dangers to Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob and Patrick travel through the changed underwater world, fight new enemies and try to stop the two feuding rivals.

The adventure tells a standalone story. The familiar characters are voiced by the original voice actors from the series. A German dub is also included.

Titans of the Tide is fully playable in German. Subtitles and voice recordings are available in German, as well as in English, French and Japanese, among others.

The story is played alone. Switching between SpongeBob and Patrick takes place within the single-player campaign.
