Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, players create their own Time Patroller who, together with familiar characters, restores the altered story of the Dragon Ball universe. The story takes place a few years after the first Xenoverse.

The game combines three-dimensional battles with a freely customizable character, equipment, learnable attacks and cooperative missions. Conton City serves as the starting point for story quests, training and encounters with other players.

The original PS4 and Xbox One versions were released in North America on Oct 25, 2016, and the PC version on Steam on Oct 27, 2016. In Europe, the console versions followed on Oct 28. The Nintendo Switch version was released on Sep 22, 2017.

Since May 24, 2024, native PS5 and Xbox Series versions with technically revised visuals also exist. They are separate platform versions, not just backward compatibility.

The six native platforms are PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco offers owners of earlier PlayStation and Xbox versions upgrade options to the respective newer version; when transferring save data, the official terms apply.

The Switch version offers motion controls and its own local multiplayer mode, among other things. The native 2024 release for PS5 and Xbox Series should be distinguished from the older console generation.

The battles take place in three-dimensional arenas. Melee combos, Ki attacks, dodging, transformations and special techniques blend together. In story missions, familiar confrontations are altered, and the Time Patrol must restore the original course of history.

Additional Parallel Quests expand the everyday mission routine. Collecting new abilities and equipment keeps you playing even after the main story is finished.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 received numerous standalone expansions. The Super, Extra, Ultra and Legendary Packs add extra characters, missions and abilities. Future Saga offers another story arc around Fu; the DAIMA Pack brings, among other things, new variants of Goku and Vegeta into the game.

Deluxe Editions and Season Pass bundles combine various DLCs. They neither replace the base game nor count as separate native platform versions.

The current Steam store page lists Windows 10 (64-bit), 4 GB RAM, DirectX 11 and at least an Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600. The graphics hardware listed is a GeForce GT 1030 or Radeon HD 7770. The recommendations include Ryzen 3 3100 or Intel Core i5-6400 and GTX 750 Ti.

With Future Saga, Xenoverse 2 gained a new story arc around Fu. The first chapter was released on May 24, 2024, alongside the native PS5 and Xbox Series versions.

The DAIMA Pack from May 2025 adds extra character forms, costumes and Parallel Quests. Both expansions are permanent add-on content, not separate main games.

Conton City is the central hub of the Time Patrol. Players visit trainers, take on missions and meet other players' avatars. The character you create can learn new abilities and equip different attack combinations.

Well-known characters from the series act as mentors instead of replacing your own hero in the story. Over time, a personal fighting style gradually develops.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 supports direct player-vs-player fights and cooperative missions. In Expert Missions, up to six players team up against especially strong enemies. Parallel Quests also offer further repeatable tasks.

On Nintendo Switch there are additional local multiplayer features and motion controls. The exact multiplayer mode depends on the platform; this does not mean automatic crossplay between all versions.
