EA SPORTS FC 24

EA SPORTS FC 24 is a football simulation from Electronic Arts. The game was released in 2023 as the first main entry under the name EA SPORTS FC, following the previous FIFA series. It combines club and national teams with career modes, Ultimate Team, Clubs and street football in VOLTA.

Players can play individual matches, manage a team over multiple seasons or build their own teams online. The football simulation uses the Frostbite engine and licenses from numerous international leagues and clubs.

EA SPORTS FC 24 was released worldwide on September 29, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Buyers of the Ultimate Edition could already play from September 22. On Steam, the PC version is listed as September 28.

FC 24 is the first part of the football series under the EA SPORTS FC name. The main installment, FIFA 23, was not followed by a FIFA 24 from Electronic Arts.

EA SPORTS FC 24 is available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the original Nintendo Switch. The console generations have their own versions. A separate version for Nintendo Switch 2 has not been announced for FC 24.

HyperMotionV animation technology is supported on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. PS4, Xbox One and Switch use different technical implementations. The Nintendo Switch version cannot take part in crossplay matches with the other platforms.

EA SPORTS FC 24 combines classic football controls with PlayStyles and new player animations. PlayStyles represent the special strengths of individual pros, such as passing, finishing or tackling. These attributes go beyond a single overall rating.

HyperMotionV uses motion data from real matches for additional animations. The technology is reserved for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC versions. Players also control line-ups, tactics, substitutions and individual actions on the pitch.

EA SPORTS FC 24 requires at least 8 GB RAM and 100 GB of free storage on Windows. Steam lists Windows 10 in the 64-bit version, an Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 570 with 4 GB of graphics memory.

12 GB RAM, an Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and a GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5600 XT are recommended. The Steam version requires an EA account and the EA app.

Crossplay in EA SPORTS FC 24 works between PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and separately between PS4 and Xbox One. Players from these two groups cannot play against each other across console generations. There is no crossplay on Nintendo Switch.

Cross-platform matches include Clubs, Co-op Seasons, selected VOLTA modes and Ultimate Team, among others. In Clubs, players can form a team together and play league matches.

In Ultimate Team, players build a squad of footballers. FC 24 introduced women's league players into the same team mode for the first time. Evolutions let you permanently upgrade suitable player cards through set challenges.

Ultimate Team includes Rivals, Champions, Squad Battles and Friendlies, among others. FC 24 also contains optional purchases of virtual currency and packs with randomly selected content.

In Manager Career, players take charge of a club and shape its sporting development. This includes tactics, training, squad planning and choosing staff. FC 24 offers seven basic tactical styles, including possession and counter-attacking play.

Player Career follows the path of a single pro. An agent system supports career goals and possible transfers. Both modes can be played independently of Ultimate Team.

EA SPORTS FC 24 was released in a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition already gave access from Sep 22, 2023, seven days before the regular release date. The editions also differ in their additional digital content.

Virtual items and currency for Ultimate Team are also available within the game. Your choice is not the same as additional football games or separate platform versions.

On PC, EA SPORTS FC 24 offers German menus, subtitles and voice-over. Steam also lists English, French, Italian and Spanish, among others, as fully voiced languages. Console language options depend on the respective regional version.
