EA SPORTS FC 25

EA SPORTS FC 25 is EA's football simulation for the 2024/25 season and the second main entry under the EA SPORTS FC name. The game combines licensed club and national teams with modes such as Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, Kick Off, and Manager and Pro career.

EA cites more than 19,000 pros, over 700 teams, more than 120 stadiums and over 30 leagues. The key new gameplay features include Rush as the 5-v-5 small-pitch format and FC IQ as the reworked tactics and positioning system.

EA SPORTS FC 25 launched worldwide on Sep 27, 2024. Buyers of the Ultimate Edition and EA Play Pro users on PC were able to access it as early as Sep 20, 2024; the regular release date of the Standard Edition remained Sep 27.

EA SPORTS FC 25 has launched natively for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

For crossplay, EA separates platforms by generation: PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S play in the same crossplay group; PS4 and Xbox One form the older group. Nintendo Switch does not support cross-platform crossplay and only plays within the Switch platform.

FC 25 builds on the series' classic 11-v-11 football and adds new tactical tools as well as the smaller Rush format. The core modes remain Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, Kick Off, Online Seasons and the career variants.

EA also puts strong emphasis on licensed competitions and clubs: Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Premier League, Bundesliga, LALIGA and several major women's leagues are featured directly in the game.

On PC, EA requires at least Windows 10 64-Bit, a Ryzen 5 1600 or Core i5-6600K, 8 GB RAM, a Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and 100 GB of storage. Recommended are a Ryzen 7 2700X or Core i7-6700, 12 GB RAM and a Radeon RX 5600 XT or GeForce GTX 1660.

Rush is the new 5-v-5 format in FC 25. It uses the same core controls and football mechanics as 11-v-11, but moves them to smaller pitches and shorter, faster matches.

The mode is built into several areas: In Ultimate Team and Clubs, four human players each control one outfield player while the AI takes over the goalkeeper. Rush is also available in Kick Off and in Manager career, where youth players can be used in their own small-pitch tournaments.

FC IQ is the new core tactics and positioning system in FC 25. EA has reworked off-the-ball play and team tactics with it, and adds more than 50 pro roles that influence how players behave without the ball and what tasks they take on in a formation.

The system also includes new tactical presets and so-called Smart Tactics with real-time suggestions. EA bases the model on real football data to better reflect differences between teams and roles.

Career mode in FC 25 has been expanded with several permanent systems. These include Live Start Points, playable ICONS in Pro Career, a revamped scouting system and closer integration with FC IQ.

For the first time, a full women's career is also playable. Managers or players can be deployed in five major women's leagues. Rush adds youth tournaments to the manager career, where young players can be actively developed.
