Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a reworked version of the 2012 zombie action game. 18-year-old cheerleader Juliet Starling must rescue her San Romero High School, which has been overrun by the undead. Juliet comes from a family of zombie hunters and fights with a chainsaw, acrobatics and the help of her boyfriend Nick.

Dragami Games kept the story but reworked the controls and graphics. Alongside the original look, there is a colorful RePOP mode.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was released in Europe on Sep 12, 2024 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. On Steam, Sep 11 may also be listed due to regional date differences.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions followed on Dec 2, 2024. The standalone Nintendo Switch 2 edition was released on May 28, 2026.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 Edition is a separate version with improved image quality and an additional shooting mode.

The regular Switch version is not the same as the Switch 2 Edition. Owners of the Switch version can buy the newer edition through a separate upgrade pack.

Juliet combines jumps, kicks and chainsaw strikes into attack chains. Successive hits increase attack speed through the Chain Hit Hunting system. The Chainsaw Blaster enables ranged attacks, including automatic target lock and sustained fire.

Throughout the story, combat, larger enemies and short minigames alternate. The RePOP version improves input windows, camera, movement speed and the handling of the Blaster.

On PC, RePOP requires at least Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-8400, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB. Recommended are a Core i5-10400, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3060 with 8 GB.

Both configurations require DirectX 12 and 60 GB of free storage space.

The game offers two presentation styles. Original Mode follows the original aesthetic. RePOP Mode uses coloured, comic-style effects on hits and defeated enemies.

Both modes tell the same story. They differ mainly in the visual presentation of the fights, not in separate campaigns.

Juliet's friend Nick accompanies her during the zombie outbreak. His abilities are available via Nick Roulette and help in fights against groups of enemies. RePOP changes the controls for some individual actions.

With Nick Shoot, several enemies can be hit and stunned. Nick Popper triggers a powerful attack on a wider area.

RePOP offers numerous outfits, additional hair colours and various chainsaws. The original scope includes 30 costumes, four new hair colours and four alternative chainsaw models.

Customisation changes Juliet's appearance. Some chainsaws come with their own abilities, while clothing and hair colours mainly serve visual personalisation.

The free Nightmare Mode expands RePOP with an alternative version of the game. It is unlocked after successfully completing the campaign and takes you through the locations of San Romero High School again.

In the protagonist's dream, altered enemies appear. New items strengthen Juliet's abilities, while the stronger enemy types in particular offer additional challenges.

The Switch 2 Edition was released on May 28, 2026, with improved resolution and graphics quality. It also includes a shooting mode, which is unlocked after completing a run in Original Mode or RePOP Mode.

In this mode, Juliet fends off zombie attacks with the Chainsaw Blaster. Joy-Con 2 mouse controls are supported. Owners of the regular Nintendo Switch version get a separate upgrade pack.

RePOP responds faster to button inputs and simplifies many combo attacks. The camera can be moved more quickly with the right stick. Combo actions are available from the start.

Optional automatic quick-time events reduce the number of time-critical inputs. The Zombie Baseball minigame has also been reworked.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a single-player action game. The campaign takes Juliet through the zombie-infested high school and its surroundings. A time attack mode with leaderboards complements the standard playthrough.

On Steam, the listed features also include achievements, cloud saves and controller support.

The PC version offers German menus and subtitles. English and Japanese are available as voice languages. Other text languages include French, Italian and Spanish.

With an additional streamer mode, the music in the store is replaced by a specially composed piece.
