Axiom and Umbral: two worlds, one threat
The Umbral Lantern lets you switch from Axiom into the eerie realm of the dead. There, other paths and hidden areas open up, and you also face additional enemies. In the second game, both worlds are more closely intertwined. The danger in Umbral is set to react to your actions rather than simply growing over a fixed timer.

The last refuge in Thorngar
Thorngar is humanity's last refuge while the darkness from Umbral consumes more lands. The boundaries between life and death are becoming more permeable, and ancient powers threaten the kingdom. The story continues the gloomy world of the predecessor, without you having to take control of its player character again.
