Next: The Portopia Serial Murder Case is a detective adventure by room6 and Game Studio under the direction of Yuji Horii. The reimagining of the 1983 classic expands the story with five new investigation files. The game will be released in Japan on March 4, 2027 for PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. So far, only Japanese text and voice acting have been confirmed.

Gameplay
The investigation follows a classic menu and command control scheme. In various locations, you question witnesses, examine clues and use collected evidence to solve the murder case. Five new case files add different perspectives to the story.

The Famicom original as a bonus
The physical editions for Switch and Switch 2 also include the 1985 Famicom version. The Japanese limited edition additionally includes a soundtrack CD, an A5 booklet and special packaging. The digital editions do not include the Famicom game.

The original crime case was released in 1983 for the PC-6001. In 1985, Enix brought the adventure to Nintendo's Famicom. Yuji Horii wrote the original and is also involved in the new version. Kyoji Asano designs the characters, Shinya Kiyozuka composes the music.
