What is Pokémon Pokopia?
Pokémon Pokopia is a life simulation in which Ditto makes an abandoned world livable again. Ditto has taken on human form and, together with Professor Tangoloss, begins to create plants, houses and habitats for more Pokémon.
Instead of classic arena battles, the focus is on exploring, building, collecting and living alongside Pokémon. The more lively an area becomes, the more new residents you can attract.

Gameplay
Ditto collects wood, stones and other materials, builds furniture and houses and shapes the landscape. Pokémon moves serve as tools: Leafage makes grass grow, and Rock Smash removes rocks or walls. With Surf and gliding abilities, Ditto can reach new places.
Building a settlement also involves growing areas, facilities and living spaces. If you create suitable habitats for Pokémon, you attract new visitors and with them more abilities for expanding your town.

Pokémon as neighbours and helpers
The Pokémon do not just join Ditto on explorations. They help build houses, teach new abilities and have their own wishes. Some residents have special talents, such as watering plants or generating electricity.
Professor Tangoloss guides the rebuilding of the abandoned settlements. Unusual variants of well-known Pokémon also live in the game world.

Multiplayer and GameShare
Up to four people can play together, online or over local wireless connections. They can visit the designed worlds and build together or take photos.
Online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. For local multiplayer without GameShare, each participant needs their own console and their own copy of the game. GameShare allows temporary play without buying the game, but it does not replace a native Switch version.

Controls and building
Players can change Ditto's hairstyle and clothing and furnish built rooms with homemade furniture. The Joy-Con 2 mouse controls make it easier to place objects precisely.
The game world also changes with time of day and weather. This creates different conditions for trips, gardening and designing your settlements.
