Sniper Elite 3

Sniper Elite 3 is a tactical third-person shooter by Rebellion. The game moves Karl Fairburne's mission to the North Africa campaign of World War II and combines open mission areas with stealth, long-range shots and booby traps.

Instead of linear corridors, the missions offer multiple routes, optional objectives and free positioning. Observation and preparation are therefore just as important as the actual shot.

The original versions for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One were released in June 2014. The native Nintendo Switch version as the Ultimate Edition followed on Oct 1, 2019.

The Switch version bundles the additional campaign missions and more DLC content and adds motion controls and adapted controller support.

Native versions exist for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The Switch version is a separate native port and not merely backward compatibility.

Distance, gravity, wind and heart rate affect ballistics. The player can take out targets from long range, move in for close combat or get past enemies using distractions and booby traps.

Large, multi-route mission areas allow different routes and sequences for main and side objectives. The Relocate mechanic lets you go back into hiding when your position has been discovered.

Sniper Elite 3 received numerous extra content packs. These include weapon and equipment packs, the bonus mission Target Hitler: Hunt the Grey Wolf and the three-part expansion campaign Save Churchill.

The Ultimate Edition bundles the additional campaign missions and more DLC content in an expanded version.

Steam lists at least a dual-core processor with SSE3, 2 GB RAM, a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card with 256 MB memory and 18 GB of free storage. The current Steam client now requires Windows 10 or later, even though the historical game requirements list older Windows versions.

The campaign can be played co-op online with one other player. There are also the co-op modes Overwatch and Survival, plus competitive online modes. The Switch version also supports local wireless multiplayer for up to four players and online matches for up to eight players.

The Switch version was released as the Ultimate Edition. It includes four additional campaign missions, extra weapons and more DLC content. Rebellion also added motion controls and support for the Pro Controller.
