What is Farm Together?
Farm Together is a relaxing farming simulation from Milkstone Studios. From a small plot of land, a sprawling farm grows. Players plant fields, grow trees, keep animals and use their harvests to unlock new buildings, decorations and crops. Instead of a mandatory storyline, there is an open cycle of planting, harvesting, investing and designing. The game can be played alone or together with friends and visiting strangers. The shared farm is at the centre, not competition for a leaderboard.

Release
The full PC version was released on Steam on Oct 11, 2018, after a preceding development phase. The Xbox One version followed on Jan 18, 2019, and the Nintendo Switch version on Feb 1, 2019. PlayStation lists the PS4 version for February 2019, with store pages from different regions showing Feb 24 or Feb 25. That is why only the month is given, rather than claiming one international calendar date. Farm Together 2, fully released in 2025, is a standalone sequel and not an update to the first game.

Platforms
Farm Together was released natively for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Steam lists Windows, macOS and Linux for PC, which count as part of the PC version. The Xbox Series X|S can play the Xbox One version according to Microsoft's Store listing, but this does not confirm a separate native Series release. Nintendo also lists a file size and compatibility of the Switch software for Switch 2, not a standalone Switch 2 product. The PS5 can use the PS4 version through backward compatibility, without this leading to a PS5 re-release. Multiplayer modes differ by device, so local and online player counts should be distinguished by store.

Gameplay
The basic principle is long-term farming. Fields and trees yield harvests depending on their growth stages. Animal pens add tasks, and buildings and new planting areas change the land. Harvests bring money and experience points, which unlock new items, decorations and options. A tractor speeds up repeated fieldwork, but needs fuel. Unlike games with rigid daily cut-offs, farm time keeps running when the player has left the program: after a break, plants may have ripened. Progress is therefore tied to your own farm rather than to daily required quests.

DLCs and expansions
Farm Together has numerous content and decoration packs sold individually. Official stores list, among others, the Oxygen Pack, Oregano Pack, Wedding Pack and other theme packs. They mainly expand the selection of objects, plants and design options, without representing a new main campaign or standalone game version. Bundles can combine several of these packs. Which packs are offered depends on the platform store. The base game therefore remains separate from DLC packs and edition bundles.

System requirements
Steam lists a dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM and DirectX 10 compatible graphics as the original minimum requirements for the Windows version. A quad-core processor, 6 GB RAM and a graphics card at the level of a GeForce GTX 960 are recommended. The game listing still cites historical OS requirements back to Windows Vista. For launching via Steam today, however, the separate Steam client requirement applies: since 2024 the client supports Windows 10 and newer. Steam also offers separate versions for macOS and Linux, whose requirements are listed separately.
The details apply to PC (Windows).

Co-op, local sessions and visitor permissions
Your own farm can stay private, be open to friends only, or be made public. During shared sessions, guests help work the fields. Farm Together has a rights and permissions system for this: the owner decides which actions other people may perform. This makes collaboration possible without handing over all design control. Nintendo lists up to four players on one device and up to eight online for Switch. The Xbox Store lists two to four locally and two to sixteen online. The figures are platform-specific and should not be presented as a single uniform maximum. Steam lists both online co-op and split-screen.

Houses, decorations and character customization
Besides farming, owners can place paths, fences, roads, farm buildings and decorative objects. The own character and the tractor can be changed in appearance. The house is a separate area whose rooms can be decorated. There the game offers further leisure activities such as cooking, painting or making music. Pets accompany the character on the farm. These design elements are permanently available parts of the game system, not short-term events.

German text and controls
The German on-screen interface is officially listed among the Steam languages and in the European Nintendo Store. Farm Together therefore does not rely on English menu text. In the game, plants, buildings, harvest yields and farm design take centre stage, rather than a voiced dialogue story. The availability of different input methods depends on the platform you choose. On Steam, controller support and Remote Play Together are listed among the product features.

Game series
Milkstone Studios from Spain developed and publishes the farming simulation. The team previously developed Avatar Farm. Farm Together 2 takes over the idea of a cooperative, growing farm, but adds a town and new mechanics, among other things, and is a standalone sequel. The related platform versions and expansions therefore must not be treated as DLC for the original Farm Together.
