Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour

Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour is a fishing simulation by Dovetail Games. You fish at American and European waters, build a pro career across three disciplines and compete against other players in tournaments. The focus is on choosing your fishing spot, bait and technique rather than quick reaction tests.

Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour was released natively for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The PS4 version can be played on PS5 via backward compatibility, and the Xbox One version on Xbox Series X|S. These are not standalone re-releases for PS5 or Xbox Series.

You look for a promising fishing spot, assemble your gear, cast and reel in the fish. Weather, time of day and the traits of the fish species affect your chances. On larger lakes, a boat, GPS and fish finder help you search.

Additional content expands the selection of waters and equipment. Larger packs include the Quad Lake Pass and individual locations such as Gigantica Road Lake, Lake Dylan, Lough Kerr and Lago Del Mundo. These are add-on content for the base game, not standalone sequels.

The minimum requirements call for a quad-core processor with 3.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 750 or equivalent graphics card with 2 GB video memory, DirectX 11 and 45 GB of free storage. The Steam version now requires a Windows version supported by the Steam client.

In career mode, you rise through the ranks in tournaments against more than 100 professional anglers. Three disciplines are available: Bass, Carp and Predator. Success grows your sponsorship deals, earnings and reputation. You can switch between disciplines instead of committing to one permanently.

The base game offers ten fishing spots. These include the US lakes Lake Guntersville and Lake Travis, as well as carp waters such as Gigantica and Manor Farm. The different shores, depths and fish stocks each require different fishing methods.

The base game features 29 fish species, including various bass, carp, trout and catfish. Their behavior patterns depend on, among other things, the time of day and the weather. This makes choosing lures and fishing spots part of the actual challenge.

Hundreds of items come from more than 50 licensed fishing brands. You combine rods, reels and lures for the fish species and water in question. The gear helps you prepare for trips and is not just decoration.

The pros featured in the game include Scott Martin, Ali Hamidi, Jacob Wheeler and Ian Russell. They compete as rivals in the career disciplines and anchor the tournaments in the world of professional fishing.

In the customizable online multiplayer mode, you set, among other things, the number of rounds, match length, fish species, waters, weather and time of day. On consoles, the game supports online matches for up to four people. An internet connection is needed for online features.

Besides the career, there are online tournaments within the Dovetail Fishing League. Community and championship tasks add long-term goals to the game. Online tournaments require an internet connection.

The fishing simulation features single-player modes, a career and online competitions. The regular single-player content can be played after installation without a permanent internet connection. An internet connection is required for multiplayer and live tournaments.

The game offers German on-screen text and German voice-over. On PC, Steam also lists English voice-over and further on-screen languages, including French, Polish, Spanish and Portuguese.
