What is Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3?

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is a turn-based tactical role-playing game about a group of children who travel with the giant tank Taranis through a land scarred by war. When Malt vanishes without a trace, his friends board the Taranis again and push into the Berman Empire. There, they face the Crimson Knights.

The journey combines battles, developing the tank and decisions about the fate of the crew. CyberConnect2 brings the story of the three-part Fuga series to an end.

Gameplay

Battles revolve around Taranis's weapons and targeted attacks on enemy weaknesses. A weakness combo increases damage with consecutive hits. At the same time, it fills the meter for a particularly powerful burst attack.

Each child has their own leader ability. The support system also lets former enemies and allies join the battle once your relationship with them has grown strong enough.

Upgrading the Taranis

Through the Omega Terminal, the Taranis tank can be equipped with new abilities. Further functions are unlocked in the memory archives. Collected VP are used to learn Taranis abilities and to buy rare items in Chathie's shop.

The tank's equipment and abilities help determine which challenges the crew can handle on later legs.

Route choices and support

On the travel routes, power points open up new tactical options. There, the Taranis can use special abilities, teleport to another waypoint or weaken enemies with balloon bombs before the next fight.

At transmission stations, the children make contact with supporting characters. This creates a second layer alongside the battles, in which the group deepens relationships and prepares its next leg.

The Soul Cannon and its consequences

The Soul Cannon can end a hopeless battle, but it demands the life of a child. In Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3, the crew threatens to reach for this weapon itself if despair grows too great. The challenge is to protect the group from reaching that point.

The Mega Soul Cannon adds an even more destructive variant. It turns a possible victory over exceptionally strong enemies into a particularly difficult decision.
