Gameplay

The children are assigned to gun positions in the Taranis. Each party member has their own abilities, and different weapon types exploit the weaknesses of certain enemies. The official game page describes three weapon classes that can delay enemy actions on the turn bar.

What matters here is pairing the right crew members, the order of actions and careful use of limited resources, not fast button presses.

Everyday life aboard the Taranis

Between battles, players take care of everyday life in the tank. The children form relationships, experience different moods and improve how they work together. The game description stresses that these bonds and how the characters' emotions are handled shape the course of their journey.

The campaign is designed for one player. The platform stores do not list a standalone co-op or versus mode.

The Soul Cannon

The Taranis has a special weapon, the Soul Cannon. It is intended for crisis situations and ties a powerful combat effect to a serious decision. In this way, the game extends its theme of responsibility and loss to the tactical systems as well.

The Deluxe Edition's bonus content includes a one-time dummy Soul item that allows the cannon to be used without its usual consequences.

Game series

Fuga belongs to the Little Tail Bronx game world built by CyberConnect2, which also includes Tail Concerto and Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. The direct sequel Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 and the third part Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 continue the series' story.

CyberConnect2 developed and published all three Fuga games itself. Sequels, multi-game bundles and additional content should be distinguished from the standalone release of the first part.
