What is Watch Dogs: Legion?

Watch Dogs: Legion is an open-world action game in which a resistance group tries to take back near-future London. After several attacks, DedSec is wrongly blamed. A private military company and criminal groups take control of parts of the city.

Instead of a single main character, players can recruit numerous residents of London for DedSec and then control them directly. Their jobs and skills determine how missions can be approached.

Gameplay

Switching between different recruits is the core game system. Passersby, construction workers, security guards or spies each have their own skills, equipment and traits. Anyone recruited for DedSec can be controlled directly on missions.

How you assemble your team affects your options for sneaking, fighting and hacking. One member can reach elevated areas with a cargo drone, while another brings a special weapon or camouflage tech.

London under Albion's control

The story begins with coordinated attacks that DedSec is blamed for. While the group lies shattered, the security firm Albion takes over large parts of surveillance and control. The criminal syndicate Clan Kelley is also taking advantage of the situation.

DedSec must find new supporters, prove their innocence and expose the masterminds behind Zero-Day. London becomes a freely explorable backdrop to the story.

Hacking, drones and infiltration

Hacks and remote-controlled devices open up routes away from direct combat. Cameras, security systems and drones can be used to access restricted areas. A Spiderbot drone can use smaller routes, while other tools bridge greater distances.

If you want to stay undetected, combine your recruits' technical skills with distractions and camouflage. Firearms and melee combat are also part of the system.

Recruitment and consequences

The skills of the whole team matter more than a single hero. You can recruit new DedSec members and assign them to different tasks. The game also offers a mode with permanent character loss.

This means that losing a character can change the makeup of the Resistance. Players who prefer to avoid this consequence can tackle the campaign with a less harsh loss system.
