NBA 2K25

NBA 2K25 is a basketball simulation by Visual Concepts, published by 2K. The game features the NBA and WNBA with licensed teams, arenas and players, and brings together several play areas: Meine KARRIERE, MyTEAM, MyNBA (Meine LIGA) and The W. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, NBA 2K25 focuses in particular on ProPLAY, which adds real NBA footage to additional movement and animation data.

NBA 2K25 came out in September 2024 for PC and consoles. 2K has now announced the end of the product cycle. From Oct 30, 2026, the game will no longer be available to buy. According to 2K, versions already purchased can still be re-downloaded. The online services will end at the turn of the year. From Jan 1, 2027, multiplayer and online modes will no longer be available.

NBA 2K25 was released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The versions differ partly in features: ProPLAY and The City belong in particular to the current console or PC generation, while older hardware uses its own variants such as the Neighborhood.

The focus is on licensed basketball games with single-player, local and online modes. ProPLAY expands animations and movements on supported platforms using real NBA footage. There are also reworked dribbling, shooting and defence systems. Meine KARRIERE combines your own MyPLAYER with City or Neighborhood content. MyNBA focuses on team and franchise management, MyTEAM on collecting and building your own squads, and The W on a career in the WNBA.

For the PC version, Steam lists minimum requirements of Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i3-9100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 960 with 4 GB, a Radeon RX 570 with 4 GB or an Intel Arc A580, DirectX 12 and 150 GB of free storage space. An SSD is required. The processor must support AVX2, and the graphics card must support DirectX Feature Level 12.0.

Recommended: an Intel Core i5-10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2070, Radeon RX 5700 or Intel Arc A770, each with 8 GB graphics memory.

With the end of the online services on Jan 1, 2027, multiplayer, MyCAREER, MyTEAM, online leagues, community sharing and the ability to earn VC will be removed, among other things. 2K lists Play Now, MyNBA, The W and MyWNBA as offline areas that remain playable. Features within these modes that require a connection to 2K's servers will also be removed. Owners should still be able to re-download NBA 2K25 after the sales stop.
