NBA 2K26

NBA 2K26 is the basketball simulation from Visual Concepts and 2K. Its lasting core includes classic NBA games as well as career, team and management modes.

NBA 2K26 launched worldwide on Sep 5, 2025. Native versions are available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Certain higher-priced editions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC were already playable from August 29, 2025. The global standard release on September 5 remains the reference.

Native versions are available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Switch and Switch 2, as well as the two PlayStation and Xbox generations, are listed as separate native releases.

2K describes the new ProPLAY Motion Engine for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. Crossplay is narrower and is only supported between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

On PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2, ProPLAY provides the technical foundation for a large part of the movement animations. NBA 2K26 extends the system with a new Dynamic Motion Engine that continuously adjusts leg and foot positions to game situations. Added to this are reworked Rhythm Shooting, new offensive controls, additional layup and post moves, and changes to collisions and interior defense.

The game combines direct basketball simulation with longer-term player and team progression. MyPLAYER and MyCAREER focus on your own pro career; other modes cover roster building, card collecting or full league seasons.

On PC, NBA 2K26 requires at least Windows 10 (64-bit), 8 GB RAM and a DirectX 12 graphics card on the level of a GeForce GTX 1060 5 GB, Radeon RX 5500 XT 4 GB or Intel Arc A580. For the processor, 2K lists a Core i3-9100 or Ryzen 3 1200. Recommended are Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, a Core i5-10600 or Ryzen 5 3600X, and an RTX 2070, RX 5700 or Arc A770. An SSD and about 110 GB of storage space are required.

The major long-term modes have different focuses. MyCAREER follows your own MyPLAYER, MyTEAM lets you build rosters from NBA and, for the first time, WNBA player cards, and MyNBA or MyGM cover franchise and league management. In NBA 2K26 this includes, among other things, 30 MyGM offseason scenarios and public online playoffs.

The W is its own WNBA career and online component. 2K notes that MyNBA and The W belong to the current Gen 9 feature set and therefore are not identically available on every older platform.

NBA 2K26 supports local and online matches depending on the mode. On PC, Steam lists single-player, split-screen, online PvP and online co-op. However, cross-platform play is not enabled for all platforms: 2K names crossplay exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
