Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V is a fighting game by Capcom in which two characters face off in direct duels. The fights combine classic special attacks and combos with individual V-abilities. The game was originally released for PC and PlayStation 4.

Street Fighter V came out in Feb 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4. The Champion Edition, released later, expanded the content with fighters, arenas and costumes. The original versions supported local two-player mode and were designed for shared online matches between PC and PS4.

Street Fighter V was released natively for Windows PCs and PlayStation 4. Both versions supported cross-platform online matches. On PlayStation 5, the PS4 version can be played through backward compatibility, and there is no separate PS5 version.

In Street Fighter V, the winner is whoever reduces the opponent's health bar to zero or has more health when time runs out. Spacing, timing, blocking, throws and punishing opponent mistakes are key. Each fighter has their own repertoire of attacks and combination options.

Street Fighter V requires a 64-bit processor and a DirectX 11-capable graphics card on PC. Steam lists an Intel Core i3-4160, 6 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 480 as the minimum. For more headroom, a Core i5-4690K, 8 GB RAM and a GTX 960 are recommended, among others.

The V-System shapes the fights with individual V-Skills, V-Triggers and V-Reversals. V-Triggers can unlock new attack options or enhanced properties. Critical Arts serve as especially powerful special attacks and require enough EX gauge.

The roster combines well-known characters such as Ryu, Chun-Li and Cammy with other fighters. The Champion Edition includes 40 playable characters and numerous additional costumes. Individual characters have different reach, movement techniques and special attacks.

The story of Street Fighter V is told through character episodes and the expanded storyline A Shadow Falls. The story campaign brings several fighters together in a shared conflict with Shadaloo and can be played alone.

Street Fighter V offers local matches, training modes, challenges, an Arcade mode and single-player content. Arcade mode draws on various parts of the Street Fighter series. Online rankings and matchmaking are separate features alongside local play.

Street Fighter V has local two-player mode and cross-platform online matches between PC and PlayStation 4. Ranked matches and matchmaking use the game's online infrastructure. Local versus mode and single-player content work independently of online matches.

Street Fighter V uses Unreal Engine 4 and relies on a stylised three-dimensional presentation of two-dimensionally played fights. Training, reaction time and stable frame rates are especially important for precise attack combos.

The Champion Edition expands the main game with fighters, arenas and costumes from earlier content releases, among other things. It is not a separate new game generation. Some extra content, such as special collaboration costumes, may not be included in the scope of the edition.
