What is Resident Evil Requiem?
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth main entry in Capcom's survival horror series. The game returns to Raccoon City and combines classic series horror with two playable lead characters: FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and experienced DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy.
Both storylines intertwine but differ in how they feel to play. Grace is more focused on investigation, escape and vulnerable survival, while Leon appears more experienced in combat. Together they form the core of a game that brings together fear, action and the story of Raccoon City once again.

Gameplay
At its core, Requiem remains classic survival horror: exploring, solving puzzles, managing resources and surviving fights. The camera is especially flexible. During play, you can freely switch between first-person and third-person perspective.
Grace and Leon bring different focuses. Grace's sections rely more on tension, investigation and improvised survival, while Leon's chapters are noticeably more offensive and action-heavy. Switching between the two characters ensures the campaign deliberately moves between horror and combat highlights.

Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy
Grace Ashcroft works as an analyst for the FBI. The trail of a series of mysterious deaths leads her to an abandoned hotel and back to the aftermath of the Raccoon City disaster. Leon S. Kennedy, himself a survivor of the 1998 incident, returns as an experienced DSO agent.
The two characters are set apart not only in the story but also in how they play: Grace stands for vulnerability and horror, Leon for combat routine in the fight against bioterrorism. Their stories converge as the campaign progresses.

Return to Raccoon City
Raccoon City is once again the central setting and narrative reference point. After the 1998 virus outbreak, the city was destroyed by a government-ordered sterilisation operation and then largely pushed out of public view. Requiem revisits this past decades later.
With this, Capcom ties the new story directly to one of the most important locations in the entire series, rather than using familiar names merely as background references.
